Transporting colostrum

Hello all, Nesting continuing full on and looking at Amazon to see what else I can possibly buy😅 We are a quick drive away from the hospital - 10/12 mins at night and maybe 20/25 depending on traffic day time. The thing is I’d rather not buy anything unnecessary for one time use anymore. Do you think I need an…

Safe ways to naturally induce

Today I've read about momma's pumping or drinking castor oil (midwives brew) to induce labor, and these options honestly scare me because of the research I've done. Namely, nipple stimulation and castor oil being the two more dangerous methods, not recommended to induce labor because of how intense and uncontrollabl...

How long did you wait to have sex with c section

Does anyone know if it is safe to have an organsm before 6 weeks ? I think your uterus contracts and is that bad for its healing ? Qnd would it hurt after.

Changing hospitals

I’m due my second baby next year, I had my first at Hillingdon. But after the first couple of appointments I’ve decided Hillingdon isn’t were I want my care or the care/birth of my baby. Where else is near to Ruislip, I don’t think Watford is an option as heard bad reviews there as well.

Had an emergency C-section in April 2023. Due with second child first week on Jan 2025. Don't know how to try to deliver.

VBAC (vaginal birth after C-section) has approx 75% success rate, 25% resulting in emergency C-section. Also has approx 0.5% chance of uterine rupture. Recovery should be better vs a C-section. Planned C-section obviously comes with it's own risks of major surgery. However planned C-section recovery is apparently b...

Induction

40 weeks six days, was 1 cm dilated last appt, opting in for an elective induction, first kid was 13 days late with a need for an induction due to low amniotic fluid. I feel like I have tried all the things, sex, pumping, dates, pineapple, spicy foods, rolling on a yoga ball, yesterday I hiked 4 miles on a hilly tr...

Breech Advice

Just come back from a growth scan and she’s breech (she’s on the 95th centile at 6lb7 for ref, she’s a growing gal 💪🏼) but I’ve been advised to look in to EVC’s and the potential of having a section if she doesn’t turn in the next 2 weeks. Does anyone have any advice on how I can help to encourage her to go head…

Advice

I went into triage yesterday for reduced fetal movement, my first episode. As soon as I was put on the monitor baby started moving and met criteria. They admitted me for monitoring since I’m a high risk pregnancy and I’ve had three CTG monitors - 2 have passed and 1 has not, this was due to baby being asleep at the ...

Group B Strep

I’ve just had a call from one of the hospital midwives to tell me that a swab they took on Friday has tested positive for group B strep. She told me this means that if my waters break, I need to have my labour induced at the hospital immediately and that I’ll need IV antibiotics during labour. Does anyone have any e...

Feeling guilty

Idk if guilty is the right feeling but because of my c section recovery taking so long I could only do so much with my baby. Like tummy time. I did it in bed for a while and I still struggle getting up from the floor and picking him up since I started that. He is now 10 weeks old and we do it every day but I just s...

Amniotic fluid or discharge?

Once yesterday and twice today I’ve leaked enough for it to go through to my pants. It’s not a ton any time, just enough to make a circle about 1.5-2 inches in diameter. It’s not leaking between times, which I read is a sign that your fluid sac has ruptured, and i definitely don’t think it’s enough to be my water fu...
