Feeling guilty

Idk if guilty is the right feeling but because of my c section recovery taking so long I could only do so much with my baby. Like tummy time. I did it in bed for a while and I still struggle getting up from the floor and picking him up since I started that. He is now 10 weeks old and we do it every day but I just saw a post of a bunch of moms saying their babies are rolling over by now and mine isn’t even close. I mean on occasion he will roll to his back from belly but that’s because he hates tummy time. Has anyone else struggled with healing and being able to mom??

I had a c-section, my baby had reflux and hated tummy time. It was a tough struggle for all the same reasons as you. He still rolled both ways by 5 months. Each baby is different and individual. I would just keep up with tummy time, trust you are doing the right things, the baby is building the muscle strength in their own time and one day it will just happen. Next baby I don’t think I will even worry about milestones because they just kinda happen in baby’s own time. What you are feeling is normal because mum guilt is tough, but I promise it is highly unlikely it is anything you are doing wrong.

My baby hated tummy time too. Try not to worry or feel guilty (I know it’s hard) - your little boy might have hated tummy time anyway just like mine! In the UK, the milestone for rolling is “as early as 3-4 months”, but up to 7 months - so 10 weeks is still early days. My little boy is now 19 months and the biggest thing I’ve learned is that comparing your baby to others / comparing yourself to other mamas will drive you nuts! You sound very conscientious and like you’re doing a great job. Hang in there ❤️ On a practical note, you can get tummy time pillows / cushions - we got one by a brand called Done by Deer and it made tummy time much more enjoyable for my little guy. Hope this helps 😊

I wouldn’t worry about rolling over at 10 weeks! It’s usually 4 months +. My little one hated tummy time but he was rolling by 4, crawling by 8 and walking by 1 x

I just came to say it is not typical for babies to roll over at 2 and a half months! Also they’re talking about physical therapy for my 4 month old and he can roll both ways!! My other sons couldn’t roll both ways at this age! Literally, all babies are different. They gain those muscles in lotssss of ways. And you shouldn’t feel guilty! Unless your pediatrician is saying he should be stronger by now it’s no need to worry and even if they did say that you do PT and they get stronger and that’s that! It’s not your fault. It’s the c sections fault. And shoot his little butt wouldn’t be here without that c sections! So everyone better be grateful! Feel bad for you girl! You been through alot, his little butt is fine! 😉

Btw, the skinny eyebrow thing on your profile has me literally rolling on the floor laughing lol. We all can relate to that one! 😂

Most babies will not be rolling by 10 weeks. 4 months maybe! I had a similar thing. I've had two c sections and my first one I was back to myself more or less instantly. Husband was surprised. So we expected same this time but it hasn't been so easy. I felt like he was getting annoyed over my healing as he expected it to be like last time. I'm 5 weeks pp now and more or less back to usual self. Basically everyone is different and every surgery is different! But for real 99% of babies are not rolling by 10 weeks.

Never did tummy time wouldn’t even worry about it

Don’t feel guilty! Rolling over isn’t even expected until like 3 months at the EARLIEST and it’s listed as a 6 month milestone according to the CDC. if your baby is rolling sometimes that is already ahead of the curve. I did hardly any tummy time with my kiddo and he definitely spent more than the recommended time in bouncers and he has hit all of his milestones early. Tummy time is helpful especially if a baby seems a bit behind, but it’s not the end all be all and babies can develop just fine without it! You are doing a great job!

When I first had my girl, her daddy changed every single diaper because I was recovering from a CS and bending over was painful. I cried and cried feeling so guilty that I didn’t change any of her diapers. But one day I had the core strength back and I was so proud that I changed her by myself. Now I’m swimming in poppy diapers! lol All of this is so temporary and your relationship to baby and as a mom is gonna grow so beautiful and big things like this will feel like a blip in time. Be kind to yourself, you’re doing an amazing job ❤️
