Activities with baby

Hello, I live in waterbeach and have a 5 month old baby girl. I was wondering what sorts of things you do with your babies to pass the time and help socialise them etc? I’ve been to sing and sign, plan to go more, and also tried little gym in Milton but I think baby is too young to make the most of it. Thanks! ❤️

Teething at 6 weeks old?

Is it possible for a baby to start teething at 6 weeks old? My LO has white bits on her gums, and is showing all the signs of teething described on the NHS website: Sore gums Mild temperature around 37.2-37.4 (not all the time) Flushed cheeks Dribbling more Chewing on hands Needing her dummy more Irritable w...

Fussy and whinging at meal times. Losing my mind out here.

I’m going crazy. My LO turned 1 years old in September and well before that he started playing up at meal times, I kept reading that it’s a phase and he’ll get over it etc. but it’s becoming TOO much now, he spends the whole meal time, esp dinner time, screaming and whining and wanting to be taken out of his high-ch...

Potty training - poos

Hi all! Little boy has been potty training for the past two days, just pants on through the day. He’s done so well with wees, mostly can tell me before anything comes and only a couple of times has had tiny leak before going to the potty. However, it’s clear today that he needs a poo and he has sat on the potty a...

Nursery funding for 3 year old

Can anyone help me please? I have found a nursery I want my 3 year old to attend. They have sent some information which includes a table of fees with ‘funded’ and ‘non funded’ prices. Do I still have to pay some fees even if I want her just to have the 15 hours she is entitled to?

Mums who work from home…

For the mums who work from home and your child is at home too does it work? I know this probably has a lot to do with your child’s personality but I’ve just got a new job which requires me to be in the office two days and home three days. My girl will be in nursery for the two days I’m in the office but I can’t bare...

No longer interested in eating

My little girl seems to have really lost interest in food over the last few weeks. She will eat a few spoonfuls and that’s it. I know teething can impact their food intake. I’m not sure if I should try and reduce one of her milk feeds she’s still on four bottles a day or just carry on with her milk for now and see i...

Teething???

How do yall tell if your baby is teething or not? My son never had a bad experience or symptoms when he was teething. They just popped through, no extra fussy days or EXCESSIVE chewing & drooling. But my twins are 7 months now and I’m wondering if one of them is teething? They’ve both been gnawing on teething toys s...

Can't please everyone 🤦‍♀️

So a few weeks ago my mum bought my LB a new car seat for her car and my partner was annoyed, today I've picked up a second hand pram to keep at my MILs to save me taking mine every time I go there, when my boy was 8 weeks old me and my mum went halves on a pushchair which was £65 as my travel system just wasn't rig...

Homeschooling

Wondering if any other mothers knew from the moment that they were pregnant, that they were going to homeschool? My husband and I made that decision when we found out I was expecting, I know when they are already in school you have to de-register them but what if they never go to public school and are automatically ...

Advice on nursery!

My daughter is 3.5 and started preschool full time this September. There is a kid there with ‘behavioural issues’ and the last 3 days there has been ‘incidents’ where she has hit my little girl or done something to her (squirted a bottle in her face) etc. I’ve spoken to them and they’ve said they will keep an eye, b...

Husband is mad at me we won’t talk to me

So I’m about 4 months pregnant and I’ve been struggling with morning sickness and bad fatigue. So our house has been a disaster. Like my clean laundry is all on our dining table and some dishes are backed up toys everywhere etc. I stay home most of the time and my husband works 60 hours a week. But he always gets ma...

How can I tell my SIL to stop interacting with my kids?

Background on topic, my SIL has been rude, disrespectful and quite mean to me for years. It’s got to the point where we don’t talk anymore. I’m seeing my SIL at a family party soon. She’s previously interacted with my kids at functions and I’ve hated it but not had the guts to say anything. This time I’m planning to...

What kind of food are you guys giving your babies for packed lunches during childcare? Right now we just give a jar of puree. I'd like to pack her more food since she's starting to eat more solids but I'm not sure what.

Husband Argument

My husband and I are in a huge disagreement at the moment because he does not think I should spend a whole night away from my 11 month old baby. This is completely hypothetical, as I have hardly any life now, but he thinks I should ‘take it more seriously’ and not have a night away until LO is older. I am obviousl...
