Same I plan on homeschooling all 3 of my babies. & Depends on the state. But Louisiana is pretty lax with their requirements. You don’t really have to turn in any proof of anything till they’re 7, but I’ll be following a curriculum I think is suitable for my kids and have them get involved in tons of extra curriculars, I have a rough outline of what I’d like for them to get through their education and what I can reasonably provide for them. The socialization argument just isn’t feesable anymore, you can get involved in so much, and much more enriched socialization settings. I meet kids from public school who are so glued to their phone and can’t socialize at all. There’s strange people anywhere you go, public or homeschool. In Louisiana I’ll jsut be setting up paper work for “my own school” so I don’t need to abide by public school restrictions of marking attendance or specific learning marks. I’m really considering Memoria press a Christian Classical curriculum.
@Macey we we the same, we already know how and what we would like to start with when our little is old enough. Then would be splitting homeschooling with educational activities for kids. I know there are homeschooling groups out there that get together to go to farms, museums, art galleries etc
We are hoping to homeschool. We have a 2 year old and expecting another in March. There’s a good Facebook group Home Education For All (Hefa) which has helpful guides. I also think there’s a meet up in Bramley for home Ed families xx
I home educate mine, if they are never registered at a school then you don't need to do anything except continue to help them learn and grown but at home. The local authority might ask you to send in reports if they find you aren't at school to make sure your child isn't missing education. As someone else suggested the HEFA group of FB is amazing.
This is something I’m starting to really consider and my baby is 5 m/o. Thriving with Hannah on TT and IG is a really good account to follow. There’s loads of local fb groups too full with people already doing it with lots of advice and info. All the best for when you start xx
