No longer interested in eating

My little girl seems to have really lost interest in food over the last few weeks. She will eat a few spoonfuls and that’s it. I know teething can impact their food intake. I’m not sure if I should try and reduce one of her milk feeds she’s still on four bottles a day or just carry on with her milk for now and see if things improve with her eating. She’s also still only on breakfast and dinner, as I haven’t seen the need to give lunch as she’s hardly eating anything currently. Has anyone else gone through the same thing?

How are you feeding her? My daughter is currently refusing everything I try to give her on a spoon as she wants to feed herself x

My daughter has never been a big eater, I've been told food before 1 is just for fun so trying not to worry and trying to make sure she has all her milk x

@Aimèe I feel like this might be the problem with us too.... but when it's yogurt or a pouch.,how do we deal with the mess?!

@Aimèe I am spoon feeding her and I did wonder if I should see if she wants to feed herself and be more independent and see if that helps. I may have to give it a try and see if that changes anything x

I remember my 3 year old going through the exact same thing. I'm just giving her things that she can pick up and trying not to worry about the mess 😂 going things like sandwiches for lunch. Mash potato has been a hit for dinner times, she can easily grab fist fulls haha xx

@Katie we get some really thick yoghurt and preload the spoon for her and then hand it to her. We have phases where she wants to be spoon fed but most of the time she wants to feed herself! Plus its a great sensory experience for them. I promise the more you let them self feed, the less messy it gets!

I had that with my son recently! Then i went from 4 to 3 bottles but introduced dinner instead, and it seems to work! I also found he needed a proper break between breakfast and lunch to eat the latter, usually around 4-4.5h
