Bowel movement after c section

I had a planned c section yesterday, and everything went well. It's my second so we are home already, which is great. I passed urine fine, as well as wind. But I so need to go for a number 2, but I just can't. When I sit on the toilet, it's just nothing, I can't push due to the c section. I've tried to put a supposi...

Early labour

I’ve been in early labour for nearly 24 hours, contractions have been getting a bit more intense but manageable sitting on an exercise ball. But as soon as I lay down on my side to try and sleep they ramp up. Anyone else experiencing/experienced this?

Smell

Hi all, Question for the new mamas who have over hang belly. How do you take care of your incision area? Do you give it a lots of air? How do you clean it? Is it normal for bit of smell? I am 5 week PP. Area around the incision area was very sore and started to smell so I went to triage. I could see bit of juice...

C section

I think my c section site is infected(redness above and below the site and quite sore. It’s the weekend and the gp is obviously shut until Monday. Is this something I need to ring triage about now? (Even though it’s 9.20pm at night or can I wait till Monday?)I’ve been signed off the care of midwives and I doubt my H...

Does any of you have experience with being induced 2nd time around? I had a spontaneous delivery w...

Anyone have experience and can distinguish difference between amniotic fluid leak and discharge….

I am currently experiencing a sensation where my underwear feels damp. It is not thick like discharge and also not totally soaked like your water breaking. It does happen daily though. It is not a lot but it is making me worry that amniotic fluid might slowly be leaking. I wanted to see if anyone else experiences th...

Anyone needed a cervical stitch

I had an appointment today for a cervical length check and up just on the borderline, they said I can either stay on progesterone pessaries or get a cervical stitch done, has anyone had a similar experience at all? I'm a bit scared.

Positive Induction Stories

Hi all, Good chance I’m getting induced next week as baby is measuring large (97th percentile 😬) Currently 38 weeks - went for stretch & sweep yesterday which was a no go as baby too high and cervix still closed. Have tried the following to bring on labour (I know some are just old wives’ tales!): ✅ Sex ✅…

Is it appropriate for my 20 month old to come to the hospital

I’m 39 weeks pregnant with my second, so almost there. I’m hoping all goes smooth and I can go home soon after, but in the event that I do have to stay in hospital for a couple of days, would it be appropriate for my son to come to the hospital to see me and his new sibling or just wait till we go home?

C section recovery

I am booked in for a section in the next few weeks. I’m just wondering if anyone has worn a c section recovery belt following their section, if so how did you find it and how soon after the surgery did you wear it? This is my first baby so I’m open to any recommendations for things needed to make recovery from the...

C-section Uncertainty

Sorry but need to share this with someone who may have had a similar experience. Had a growth scan when I was almost 37 weeks, followed by a consultant appointment where I was supposed to book a c-section. The consultant pointed the c-section should have been booked 7 weeks before my due date and by that point, ev...

Hospital bag

I’ve got everything ready for my hospital bag and was going to take a little case like the ones you can take onto the cabin. However I can’t fit everything in so I was thinking of just taking a bigger / normal size case so I can throw everything in and just have that instead of three different bags. I’m also having ...

Elective induction - big baby

I'm a 34-year-old first-time mom, and so far my pregnancy has been complication-free. My blood pressure is normal, and I don't have gestational diabetes. The only concern is that my baby is measuring on the larger side, estimated to be around 8.12 lbs by week 39. I understand that this is just an estimate and she co...
