C section recovery

I am booked in for a section in the next few weeks. I’m just wondering if anyone has worn a c section recovery belt following their section, if so how did you find it and how soon after the surgery did you wear it? This is my first baby so I’m open to any recommendations for things needed to make recovery from the section as easy as possible, all recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

No my belly was so tender I didn’t want anything on it for the longest time. I’d say 3 months till my tummy and scar felt okay again

I loved the belt! I did notice it would rub around my incision and it bugged me so I did it over a tank top! Honestly helped with my ab separation and my confidence to start doing normal bends and reaches again!

My OB told me to wore a belt right after birth however it should not touch your scar. I found it too uncomfortable, and also it was hot when I had the baby so not very confy.. there are tutorials on YouTube how to wrap your belly with scar and it seems better than the diff belt I tried and didn’t liked (I bought one of Amazon a cheap one, and one from skims)

What is great for the c section for me : - walk the earliest and as much as you can after, I swear it’s so much pain but it’s help so so so much - buy the silicone bandages (help a lot to have a better scar) - physiotherapist specialized in PP 6weeks after birth = a must - have help 😅 it’s so hard the first days but it gets really better quickly Good luck wish you the best recovery and much happiness with your little one coming !

I'm 7wks PP.. emergency section! I haven't put anything on my incision.. mine is currently infected so on antibiotics.. since its under a skin fold its difficult to keep dry..

The hospital sent me home in 1. It wasn’t forced but they asked if I wanted it. My nurse put it on before I left the hospital which was 2 days after surgery. It hurt but was reassuring at the same time. I’m 3 weeks pp now. I don’t wear it 24/7 but if I’m going to do some walking or cleaning, even just standing washing dishes, I’ll put it on and it feels so much better on my body. I tend to slouch over from pain so it helps with my posture. And it helped me to turn on my side to sleep. I have extra skin so it holds all of that skin together while I’m moving around which alleviates the friction around my scar or sore area. Hopefully all of that makes sense.

Just to clarify. The wrap itself doesn’t hurt, but getting in the position to put it on hurts. And moving about or touching sore areas while putting it on. As far as how to wrap it, my nurse said it should be sitting on my hips (which I assumes avoids it digging into my scar)

I loved mine both times! Helped me tremendously and made everything feel more stable. Like my guts weren’t about to fall out

@Haley exactly what it felt like! Lol
