Do the GP send you an appointment or do you need to book your own for the 8 week jabs?

Where I'm from (Fleet, Hampshire) we don't have Health Visitors. But I keep seeing people mentioning them on here, so I was wondering if they're common? I always thought as a first time mum, they'd be useful to have. But no, Fleet NHS says otherwise.

My partner as forgotten about it (yes he is in the dog house) and made plans for him and our LO to go visit his mam and family over an hour away. So LO won’t be here. As it is virtual, do they ask to ‘see’ baby on screen?
