He's fully breastfed. Hmm you might be right. I don't know how to change it though. His weight gain is okay
If baby is gaining good weight you should be fine! My dr told me that foamy poops can be normal from time to time, especially if cluster feeding as it takes 10-15 mins to get hindmilk out for baby and if they’re having frequent shorter feeds they’re not getting it as much. They said to be more concerned when it’s greener than usual or baby is really distressed
Ah really. It's actually a bit greener in the last couple of days. Did your doctor say what that might be?
Dr said it’s usually greener because it’s mostly foremilk! A little foam just means they’ve had a little less fatty hindmilk than normal but the colour change and foam can be that the balance is really off. Do you have a pump? Could be worth doing a pump between feeds to see if you can get some of the hindmilk out? Or contacting GP just for a check just incase?
Do you switch breasts? This can cause too much foremilk and result in foamy explosive poo x
Is baby breastfed or formula? I know with breast milk if baby isn’t getting enough hindmilk it can make the poo foamy??
