@Chloe hey I haven’t not yet, my scan isn’t until I’m 13.5 weeks so just concerned there isn’t much time if I need to have the other tests Okay £275 is quite expensive, but like you said would be way better than the invasive one; I’d rather not have that, just the extra miscarriage risk seems too much if we don’t know if there is anything wrong with this baby I hope all your results come back quickly and all clear! Does it tell you the gender on the nipt too?
I was told in my consultation for my nipt test anytime before 21 weeks is best! I was 14+2 when I had mine done. They could book me in as soon as the next day so you should be able to get the test quickly 😊 Yes I agree best to have the NIPT test rather than risking the invasive test/miscarriage. Thank you😊 they didn’t say anything about gender on the NHS one. I went with this purely because it was cheaper, private clinics in my area were charging £400+ for the same test but you could find out the gender on those ones.
@Chloe oh that’s great thank you so much for the info! That’s so good to know. Il definitely mention it to them after my scan. Ah £400 is crazy, at the end of the day as long as the results come back okay, the gender is just a bonus, I’d much rather the results be okay for sure! It’s crazy how much they can charge isn’t it
No problem! I struggled to find much information on it over the last couple of weeks. Yes we just said we’d still book a private gender scan as it works out cheaper anyway and bonus of another scan to see baby😊
Hey! Have you had the Trisomy screening test offered to you on the NHS at the 12 week scan? I opted to have a private NIPT test through the NHS as I wasn’t able to have the trisomy screening at my 12 week scan due to the position of baby. I’ve had it for peace of mind although it is expensive. We paid £275 through the NHS to have the private test, waiting for our results currently. Personally, before having the invasive test I would opt for the NIPT. It is 99% accurate.
