How many days a week does your little one go to childminders or nursery? Mine is just about to go up to 4 days which makes me sad

I’m so confused! Can someone explain how we benefit by using the tax free childcare? My childminder has done the 15 funded hours so this month’s invoice is £951. She says that the tax free is: parent pays £8 and government pays £2. So I don’t get 20% off anything? I really don’t get this part of the scheme. Help!
