My son is 8 months will be 9 months November 1st. When should I start potty training him is it too soon to start when he’s 9 months, I e been told it’s very hard when they are this young

I’ve been having trouble with potty training my 2 year old son. I haven’t been as consistent due to having an infant, but when I do, I try to take him to the bathroom every hour or so and it hasn’t been successful. Does anyone have any pointers or suggestions? It would help a lot!
