What did the Sept 2022 UK group show?

By the end of the year, at least. If they can tell you they're wet/dirty they can be potty trained. Before then would be even better as #3 comes in the spring.

I’m going to try during Christmas break

We’ve been doing it for about 4 weeks. We did the “oh crap” method and it worked well for us, very positive experience

I need to crack down on it. I introduced the potty at 4th of July, but my son had to have surgery which required a catheter. So we couldn’t go hard on it. He got the catheter removed the 1st of this month. He goes every morning when when we wake up and every night before bed. I ask him if he wants to go at every diaper change, when we get changed, or in the shower. But, I let him tell me no and I don’t push it. We’ve done one naked morning. He did really good with no accidents. We’re gonna try another no diaper day tomorrow. Number 2 will be here in about a month. I really don’t want to be worrying about 2 diaper changes.

@Danielle can you explain the oh crap method?

@Michele oh wow I was thinking more would be in process, thanks for sharing

@Jade https://www.amazon.com/Crap-Potty-Training-Everything-Parenting/dp/1501122983?nodl=1&dplnkId=a5289229-8f33-4664-b9f1-58bf5ea7b4a0 Here’s the book! Basically the first 3 days you have your child naked and when they start to go you move them to the potty so they are understanding what is happening. The 2nd day my daughter was understanding when she was having the urge to go. Poop was more challenging because of gas. By day 3 she was understanding if she didn’t go on the potty she would be wet. Eventually you add pants, no underwear or pull ups then after you are comfortable you add underwear. The book expands it better than I am. My SIL used this method with her 3 kids and all were successful. It does take a lot of commitment. My husband and I watched her like a hawk so we could get her on the potty right away those first two days. But after the first 3 days I felt so confident in her and now 5 weeks later she’ll tell me when she needs to go!

My little guy was using the potty like 2 months before he turned 2. He hated diapers & pretty much just decided he was ready so we went with it. I still put a pull up on him at night & during naps but other than that he’ll tell us when he needs to go on the potty. I haven’t changed a poop diaper in months lol 🥳

We started 2 months ago and she did well the first couple weeks and it just got worse from there. Now she’s even popping in her pull up which she never did before. When she’s in the buff, she goes on the toilet every time. I don’t know what to do at this point.

@Usinger I have 3 in a diaper so 2 doesn’t sound so bad to me. Mine does great with no diaper too. To the point she doesn’t want to put one back on after taking it off.
