If you have a more sophisticated and less messy method I’m all ears
In my experience, if you want to potty train quickly, wait a little longer. Closer to 24-26 months. Then get a little potty and do the 3 day oh crap method. I know there are lots of ways to potty train, but this is what has been the quickest for my kids and many of my friend’s kids
You just sit your toddler on the potty every hour then slowly stretch to every 2 hours until it becomes routine. Mine are also 17 months apart and my oldest stopped diapers at 20 months, my youngest has started sitting on the potty too now and doesn't have poop diapers with the same method. Just don't make a big deal of accidents, don't make them sit for long periods, and being consistent. Nothing to be afraid of, you'll have a few accidents in the first week or so but after that they catch on

The real challenge is just keeping your cool when there's an accident and you have a gazillion things to do and now you have pee to clean up.

@Mou omg this is the cutest story. It made me smile. Good job mama. Mins 20 month old is talking tons. I might wait a little longer, like a month or two, just to really hone in on the pee, poop and potty words

No advice just solidarity. I have put potty training my eldest off because I had the baby. And now the baby is 1 and she will be turning three in feb. It has to happen but I don’t think I’m going to enjoy it. My plan is to just take all the nappies away and when she goes in her knickers pick her up and put her on the potty.
