Poo potty training advice

Has anyone got any ideas for how we can get our daughter doing poos in the potty? She’s been potty trained for wee since July/August but she’s still holding her poo and doing it in her nappy when we put one on her for nap or bed. She also won’t alert us to the fact she’s done one and sometimes we suspect she’s been sleeping in it for a long time. I don’t know if she realises she’s even gone tbh. She has done two poos in the potty, both of which she initiated but she often tries to go and tells us she wants to go but just doesn’t. She always liked to poo in private prior to potty training she’d stand in a corner and tell us to go away if we got too close! So we set her up on the potty or toilet and give her privacy, we’ve tried staying and supporting her, putting TV on, giving her books to read while she sits there etc but nothing is working. The two poos she did do were both when I was in the kitchen, she just did it and came and told me. But they really are exceptions as she often has the chance to go ‘alone’ but can’t. We try to encourage her, remind her it’s ok to put her poo in the potty etc, without laying on too much pressure. If anyone has overcome anything similar and has ideas I’d be grateful!!

Recently just gone through this and my boy would hold it and give himself constipation! Ended up giving lactulose a couple of times.. Just kept putting on the potty a couple of times and the toilet, found he would go on the toilet better! However also had issues of him wanting a nappy on to poo in, I took him out to pick some underwear and just let him have his accidents in them however after two times of pooing in his “knickers” I left him a few minutes for him to associate that he’s had a poo and doesn’t like the feel of it (might not be the best way to approach) however consistently goes now and tells us he needs a poo or takes himself off to the potty if we are busy tending to the baby! Xx

Could of written this myself.. still in pull ups for bed but just doing No2’s in them- every night having to check her before we go to bed… and most nights we have to change her! I also think it’s to do with privacy so not sure how we get over that. We’ve tried everything. Hopefully she’ll just do it in her own time. 🙏 xx

Went through this too, we happened to get through it only by chance so might not be helpful, he went for a wee on the toilet and just happened to poop (as he had been with holding so think he was desperate) but he must have realised how easy it was and now he happily asks to use the loo for no.2!
