Does anyone know if I need to stay employed to take my paid family leave or if I’m able to quit my job and then take PFL? I was planning to leave anyway and want to take my PFL while looking for something else.

Mosquito bites when pregnant

I’m 19 weeks pregnant and have been eaten alive by mosquitos at a BBQ last night. Google says I need to contact a GP or my midwife as this could cause issues for the baby. Has anyone else done this? I don’t want to sound over worried on the phone for no reason if I don’t need to

Returning SMP back to the company?

Hi guys, I was wondering if I’ll have to return the SMP money to my company if I choose not to work with them after my maternity leave is finished. On the UK gov website, it’s written that I don’t have to return the maternity pay but wanted to double check here if anyone’s employer had asked to return.

Digital marketing fuss!

I kept seeing other mums say they’re earning like 10k a month selling digital products and like an idiot I believe them and bought the course… I’m definitely not making £10k but I did just make £1,600 as a mum literally by doing zilch and it’s so overwhelming that it is actually so accessible but still so scary. I...

SDI vs PFL

Hi I was wondering if you can apply for both sdi and pfl or is there a time frame where I can use the sdi/pfl and use the other right after? Basically i dont know which to apply for first bc my job doesn’t offer paid maternity leave and making that extra little income would help so much! Thanks! 😊

I’m currently just under 30 weeks pregnant, and am thinking about when to take my maternity leave. I get nine months off with SMP, however will be returning to work on a part time basis due to strongly not wanting to send baby to nursery. My partner will be financially supporting us.
