Time to finish a bottle

Hi all! So my little one (5 months) takes 160ml average each bottle. She normally takes about 20 mins to finish one maybe even longer on size 1 teats. She didn’t seem to be fussing but I thought out of curiosity I would try a size 2 teat. She didn’t struggle or splutter and took it really nicely but the only thing...

Making a half oz formula

My baby is starting to feed 5oz… my trouble is that I don’t know how to make that half oz without doing 6oz in a bottle since the formula I use is 1 scoop per 2 oz. How do you manage that half oz without wasting formula? Just looking for some tips from mamas who might have some easier ways of doing this without was...

Sterilisers for Mam bottles. What is best?

Looking for recommendations… We currently have the Baby Breezer water steriliser and dryer however the bottom where you put the water has started to burn and also the limescale after every use is getting ridiculous so we are thinking of changing it however are undecided on weather to get another water or UV Sterilis...

If you’re thinking about formula feeding, or looking for a new formula…

I bf and pump but have started combo feeding when I’m extremely tired, or unable to bf/pump. I’ve tried Bobbie formula and Bubs. Bobbie(cow milk based) gave my baby lots of gas, but so far she’s been doing very well with Bubs(goat milk based). I also didn’t expect to feel so guilty about formula feeding 😭

Do I need a prep machine and steriliser?

I have had a few people advise me to get a prep machine and bottle steriliser. For context, I’m a FTM and plan on breastfeeding as much as possible. But am open to formula if I’m unable to for any reason. So I think the steriliser would help the most.

Milton sterilising - help!

Going on holiday next week and I’ve never used Milton tablets to sterilise so I’m sorry if this is dumb. I understand the tablet to water ratio and that bottles take 15 minutes to sterilise. But once sterilised what do you do? I was under the impression with MAM bottles to build the bottle up (like when you micro...

How much formula per feed when combi feeding?

Hola mamas, my LO has 1 bottle of formula a day but will have more when we go away for a weekend soon when they’ll have a combo of expressed milk and formula. I know if they are exclusively having breastmilk it sticks at 4oz per feed but if it is formula, should they have more? SO looking forward to sleep that wee...

When to drop milk feeds

My LO has just begun his weaning journey. He is 6 months old. I've been introducing new veg/fruit tastes once per day. Just wondering when is the best time to drop a bottle? He is currently on 6 bottles per day (1200ml). With food, it's very little amounts for taste. Thankyou

2-2.5hrs between feeds?!

Does anyone’s babies still feed every 2-2.5hrs? Sometimes 3hrs if i’m lucky. My son (15 weeks) has 7/8 bottles in 24hrs (includes 2 night feeds). He’s on 6oz per bottle (formula). It feels like a lot but he is still on the 50th percentile and has been since the womb!

Breast milk is not enough

My lb is 6 months old. I have been combo feeding since the beginning with more breast milk than formula. Recently it seems after breast milk he’s still hungry and I am topping up with formula. I’m feeling conflicted about whether I should move into formula altogether. It seems it could even help with his sleep as he...

How do you change formulas?

Help please! My LB is now 11 weeks old (corrected age 6 weeks). He's been on SMA First Steps since the beginning. He's spitting up a lot and was prescribed Gaviscon. Even though the Gaviscon helps with the spitting up, he is often unsettled after feedings, very fussy, crying and seems to be in pain. GP said it's...

Washing bottles

I chose to use the Dr. Brown bottles for my LO because they work the best for us. When it comes to washing the bottles I rinse all the pieces with water and throw them into a bin filled with hot soapy water, rinsed again then put into our baby brezza sterilizer. My husband complains that the process takes to long an...
