Hi everyone. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. I'm 37 weeks pregnant now and I heard that at this time the doctor does a cervical exam. I'm a little nervous about it. How does it happen? Is it painful? Is it just a visual exam or will they try to measure the dilation? Thanks everyone for your answers.

Hi all! Had 12 week scan today- was expecting to hear baby’s heartbeat but sonographer said that this wasn’t usual practice and they advised against this due to possible harm to the baby.. she said the same for 20 weeks and would need to specifically request this. Maybe I’m missing something!
