Friarage
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has experience of giving birth at the Friarage? I’m finding it impossible to get in contact with somebody at the friarage in regards to going to have a look around the place in hopes to giving birth there.
Just wondering if anyone is in contact with them and how you managed to get a hold of them or book an appointment? Thanks 🫣

Hi Laura I live in Northallerton, not many babies are born at the friarage, because if you have any form of risk you are advised to use James Cook and many mums prefer to be up there to be on the safe side anyway. I wanted to have my first baby there and they gave me a tour. I also had all my antenatal appointments there Try ringing the day unit up and asking them if you can come for a look around (it’s all in the same place). I think this is the number! Never gave birth there as high risk so had to go to James Cook, but I live in Northallerton so had all my appointments there.. Whenever I rang Friarage it ended up putting me through to JC because the phone line wasn’t working properly! 🫠 maybe speak to your midwife/contact the community midwives and see if they can give you a number or transfer you?
