Elective c-section dates/pre op at st Mary’s
Hi loves is anyone having an elective c-section and already been given their dates?
I’m 37+3 and was initially told I was booked in for the 3rd but when I asked at my last appointment I was told I was not booked in until I got my pre-op. Just wondering if anyone has any idea on when I can expect this. My partner does not get paternity leave so we are reliant on his annual leave which he has saved up but it has to be booked 7 days in advance. They are not making any adjustments to this unfortunately. I know you normally get booked for 39 weeks but would really help to have a date so we can plan ahead.

I’m at a different hospital too, I was given my data a while ago and my pre-op is the week before. In my hospital certain consultants have access to book a date there and then which is what happened with me. Maybe you could request to speak to a consultant who can give you a date due to the circumstances x
Thanks a lot ladies ❤️. Not sure why common sense didn’t let me just call the booking department. Rang them and I’m booked but the date will be moved forward so kinda helpful in getting an idea and kinda not helpful because I still don’t have an exact date 😩 lol

I'm at a different hospital, but the pre op is the day before for me. I go in for pre assessment Thursday and then surgery is Friday. Maybe call your hospital and midwife to ask policy? Might be something standard re the advance process! X
