C section

I’m currently 5 weeks postpartum recovering from a c-section and looking for advice for when to start exercising again. Before becoming pregnant I used to love staying active by going swimming and doing home workouts. Mentally I feel ready to begin working out again but not sure on the recommended recovery time🤍

It’s a hard question, it all depends when your ready but also your body at the same time ! I wasn’t able to drive for 3 months till after the C-section as that was recommended even though I felt fine incase I suddenly broke ! As long as you’re not doing too much heavy lifting or straining that could cause the stitch to stretch then you should be okay!

@Steph Thank you for your advice Steph. I’ve been recommended not to drive until I’m 6 weeks postpartum so have 1 more week to go. X

@Amie no worries! Have you had anyone check over your scars ? If so they should also be able to tell you if they think it’s more than okay? But I don’t see why not as long as your not in agony

Swimming and walking Id say would be fine. Home work outs & weight training I’d wait another month x

@Steph The last check I had was when I was 3 weeks postpartum. My baby is due to get weighed with the midwife next week for his 6 week appointment so I might ask her just to have a look. How have you found recovery from your CSection ? X
