Infacol

Baby had awful issues with painful and hard to pass gas. Started giving infocol before every feed which has helped a lot so far but I’m just wondering does that mean they’re on that for ages or how long until you can like stop giving them that? I read online they can do their own burps at 12 weeks or when did everyone stop giving infacol please

I bought Infacol but haven’t used it yet. I have used Dentinox though and generally I only give it to my baby when she needs some extra help with gas or bowl movement. Once she goes back to normal I stop giving it to her. It does mean she’s on/off it at times but I don’t see a need to give it to her on the days when she seems to be regular.

I was using infacol and I actually think it was making her more constipated. So I stopped it and seen an improvement. I was giving it every feed for like 2 weeks. She is doing well with her gas now. Xx

@Cheryl same here. But give him dentinox with his formula only, not when he’s on the breast. I have infacol in the cupboard for when the dentinox runs out. He is still struggling with trapped wind and a gripey belly but it’s not as bad. I’ll be interested to know if infacol works better. I’ve also considered gripe water as it’s meant to specifically stop the muscle spasms in the tummy

@Alisha good to know!!

I only give infacol a couple of times a day and it seems to have helped overall. The box dues state though that it’s a maximum of 4 times per day

We use infacol for her late night feed, it seems to settle her for the night ahead as my little one struggles too!

debtinox works better for us and tubes to release gas. Both gripe water and infacol made my baby constipated unfortunately and I didn’t notice a big difference with them unfortunately 🤷🏻‍♀️ but every baby is different though x
