Induction

FTM I have ehlers danos syndrome which makes my joints super lose and painful and causes dislocations. I am 36 weeks on Friday! I wanted to talk to my doctor about planning an induction my pain is so bad in hips that I can barely walk. They have also been dislocating as well. Has anyone been induced due to severe pain? I know he will probably want to wait till at least 37-38 but I am in so much pain 24/7. Didn’t know if anyone else has had an induction due to severe pain.

For normal induction people wouldn’t just be induced until 39 weeks but because of your thing they might be willing to do it earlier. I think you could totally ask at your next appointment

I have EDS and I’ve been under a consultant for my pregnancy. I’m only 18 weeks and they are going to assess how my EDS with how it will affect my birth. I’ve already been told that I’ll be induced and will unlikely go past 37 weeks so it’s possible that they might induce you in the next week or so if you’re in that much pain! Good luck! X

I have HEDS which is a less severe form and was told if i make it passed 37 weeks that i can induce at 38-39 weeks currently 33 and have been dislocating frequently but am managing so far hang in there! Soon your baby will be in your arms!

@Bee I have HEDS as well!!

Are you still able to give birth vaginally? Won't you need a c section?

@Sol my ob has told me that really should be the last resort due to the condition affecting the way we heal and would be more damaging but i am unsure of what her ob stance on that is but generally speaking vaginal brith is better but its also depends how baby is looking the most important thing is her and baby being coming out the other end safely
