Primary schools :/

Hey mamas Just wondering how many of you has started looking for primary school for their September kid? I found out this morning that apparently I should have already started this process and got my twins in waiting list and need to look for primary schools in catchments etc. feeling a bit anxious and out of place now bcos didn’t realise it’s supposed to be this early and worried I missed my chance at the good schools for my daughters? They’re my first kids so I have no idea what I’m doing Has anyone started/put their kid in waiting list or started looking into primary schools? Xx

Yes we looked around the school (nursery attached) the other week and decided to put her name down for sep 25 for nursery to go onto the school after

What? This is news to me too?!!! Our kids don’t start school until Sept 27?! How the hell can we put a kid on a waiting list for 3 years time?! 🙈

You can only put their names down/ on a waiting list for the school nursery. Application for school/ reception places are made through the council the January prior to their September start date.

Primary schools are done by various criteria - first come first serve is NOT one of them. Nurseries and nurseries attached to schools can have waiting lists but not actual schools

Yep started looking at colleges too

@Megan 🤣🤣🤣💀

Thank you mamas, really appreciate the replies. I won’t be talking to other mums after this tho 😬

hi, just out of interest why won’t you be speaking to other mothers after this? is it because of the replies on this post or is it because of the person you spoke to who had told you that your kids should be on a waiting list for schools already? when i read your post i was a bit confused because they wouldn’t start until september 2026 or 2027 (my girl is end of august)

My God I thought I was going crazy reading this post 😅😂 My July 2021 starts school next year in September and the application process only starts from January! Our September 2022 kids only start school school in September 2027! 😅

@~ Miss Ritaa🦋 It’s because I have had several conversation with other mums another different topics that have left me feeling anxious about something or another. For example in this instance, I left the convo feeling so anxious bcos another mum handled things differently and told me she started the process of looking for primary schools at the same age as my daughters. That left me feeling panicky bcos now feels like I am behind in the process 😭 So going forward, I’ll be taking other mums experiences/steps on how they do things with a pinch of salt as everyone is different I guess? Hope that answers your question lol

yes it does & that is totally understandable! i hope your more at ease now, sending well wishes x
