First time c section with a baby

I am 20 weeks pregnant and we are doing C-section too because I have already had a C-section surgery so I guess doc said it’s the safest way… I really wanted to have a baby natural for the experience any positive thoughts? Will I still get to go in labor?

If you are having a planned (elective) c-section you won’t go into spontaneous labour unless your baby and body go into labour before your scheduled c-section date. Elective c-sections are very controlled

Is there a specific reason they think it’s safer for you to have another c-section? If you want a vbac there shouldn’t be any reason you can’t try for one. I had my second baby 15 months after my c-section baby and baby was born vaginally. Unless you have a medical reason for needing another one it would be worth discussing with your doctor exactly why they’ve suggested another c-section rather than a vbac.

You can have a normal birth if you have more than 2 years of having a c section … I had 2 c section because I wanted to but my doctor told me I was ready for a normal birth I wanted to …

@Blanca yeah it was in December so definitely hasn’t been two years but I’d love to have natural

@Berlind yes because I’ve have a c section due to fibroids in December so I guess they said they don’t want it to split while pushing or something

@Dianne hmmmm thanks I’m googling all that information now

I’m planning a VBAC (due any day now) and I’m 17 months since my c-section. The risk of uterine rupture is 0.5% so minimal and yes you are allowed to try to labour it’s entirely your choice and cannot be pushed into anything you don’t want. Do your own research, use NHS sources and RCOG and advocate for yourself. https://www.wwl.nhs.uk/media/.leaflets/617fe94083a131.34062713.pdf https://www.rcog.org.uk/for-the-public/browse-our-patient-information/birth-after-previous-caesarean/

@Becca thank you. I love your attitude 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

I just had a VBAC with my second 12 days ago! I would definitely talk to your doctor about your risk factors and if VBAC is a possibility!
