Perfectly normal and nothing to worry about, try tummy time, sensory play, black/white and red stimulation, reading books, singing etc wake windows are great for learning and development x

My baby was and is the same - its temperament mostly I think you either get a good sleeper or you don’t and babies have different sleep needs. 6 weeks is still fairly little so may just still be settling or getting what she needs at night. If you haven’t already try a routine, get her outside but don’t put too much pressure on it you’re both still new to this x

Yes exactly the same unless I hold her but I can’t physically do this all day!

Mine is much the same. Will nap on his pram tho so we go lots of walks. I have discovered that if I transfer him still wrapped in his warm blanket from the pram to the Moses basket, I get a bit longer nap out of him, sometimes lol xx

Same with my 5 week old. Won’t sleep unless I hold him or he will nap for literally 2 minutes and be wide awake. Night times are sooooo good tho

Contact maps are the only thing that work for me, so I baby wear a lot.

My little girl turned 7 weeks yesterday and the last couple of days she’s done the exact same she had a 2 hour nap today only because she was out in her car seat and then in her pram been wide awake since x

… are you babies breast fed or bottle fed… the ones that sleep well at night????

@Laura mine is breastfed and slept though from 11 weeks. I really don’t think that’s a factor it’s just the baby. I have a friend who breast fed up to 5 months and then switched to formula and sleep is the same.

@Hannah just curious as my breast fed baby nurses constant between 1-6am… looking for some hope that she will sleep through at some point, as I have been led to believe that only bottle fed really sleep through

@Laura How old? Could cluster feeding?

@Laura They cluster feed generally speaking 7, 14, 21 days and then about 6 weeks then 8 and then 12 weeks. The worst for me was 6-9 weeks she fed 10-4am it’s the WORST being a new mum is hard as it is but the constant touch and sleep deprivation is a lot. Get a feeding cushion if you haven’t already, snack and hydration kit with you (lucozade sport is really good for these times) and try and surrender to it. I read so much and watched stuff and it passed quicker. If you have any support maybe try pumping so someone can take over and you can get an hour or so but also don’t feel you have to stick with BF you can try combi feeding if that’s what works for you or switch entirely if you wish. We tried she just wouldn’t take it. It gets a lot easier after 12 weeks feeding wise - promise. Enjoy it whilst they don’t get distracted by every little thing 😂 You’re doing great hang in there x
