C-section silicone scar patch

Hi girls, My midwife removed the dressing for me today. Is it a good idea to cover with the Frida mom scar patch I bought myself? Or should I just leave it as is? It just feels very unprotected now 🙈 Thank you

As long As your scar is healed then you should be fine. I started using them when my scar healed and closed and it really helped. My scar looks great and has no keloids and it felt protected the whole time

I wouldn’t put it on until the scar is completely healed! I started using them after my gp 8 week check x

I started using mine after 8 weeks as well. You want to make sure all the stitches are fully dissolved and the scar is 100% good. My doctor told me wait at least 6 weeks but better to wait 8 weeks

Can’t be used on a wound, only a healed scar. Your wound will heal on its own, it needs to stay aired and dried. After 6 weeks feel free to try scar treatments like patches xx

I made the mistake of using silicone tape at 4/5 weeks on my nicely healing intact wound and after accidentally leaving the tape on too long (24hrs?) the wound had opened 3-4mm. Turns out it was a spitting suture which can occur, basically the body rejecting the dissolvable suture. I'd strongly recommend waiting post 6weeks :)

Once my wound healed my dr prescribed tretinoin and its completely unnoticeable now!

Oh no let me remove it now 😬😬😬😬😬😬😬 Thanks everyone

I was told not to put anything on my scar as it can slow down the healing of it
