How are people actually paying for daycare?!?! 😤😮‍💨

Am I crazy but is $2100 a month for diaper changes, feedings and naps just a little too much? Don’t get me wrong, I love the peace of mind that my baby is safe and well cared for and he’s makes lots of friends but they’re taking all my coins. I’ve tried the family daycares and I have cried more than once because of their actions or lack there of. I’ve tried nannying but having someone sing the abc’s next to my zoom calls and staying away when I hear him cry is rough. I even considered being a SAHM but I don’t know if it’s in me. I also don’t want to sacrifice my career. I’m thinking of getting a second job but does that make sense? This is a great daycare but my wallet is screaming SOS!!!! What are other moms doing to pay for daycare?

By the way I live on the outskirts of Boston… if that puts any perspective on cost of daycare

Listen, I’m with you on that . Daycare expenses is crazy . $356 a week for my baby & she’s only 10 months . I literally looked at the total amount for daycare that me & her father spent this year & it’s way past $13,000 . Then I filed for ELC , waited 7 months for them to tell me I make too much like I don’t have other bills .

@Bri’Anna 😮‍💨 same here. It hurts!

The state paid for my son’s daycare I only had to pay 17$ for the copay every month. It was my son’s aunts daycare . $2,100 is insane

Hold up. You think caring for your child is "JUST" diapers, feedings and naps?

That's $13/hr per child. In general, yes daycare price are really expensive, but these are our children we are talking about. If you're worried about where your money is going you could ask them for their yearly expense sheets. The company likely has a ton of overhead expenses people don't consider. And the people caring for your child deserves a living wage.
