Healthy start card..

Hiya ladies I was just wondering can I use my healthy start card to buy pre-made formula- I know for the hospital I need premade bottles as I can't BF and they are quite pricey! So was wondering can I use my healthy start card for pre-made? I know I can use it for first formula but unsure if it's aloud to be used for the pre-made bottles. Also im thinking of going with cow+gate as they do the little bottles with teats and it's a formula that is stocked most places - good idea? I know obviously every baby is different and what works for one may not work for another but I'm just trying to get organised and get my hospital bag packed and as prepared as can be. Thankyou :)

@Jules thankyou! Yes I was debating kendamil but I want to make sure I get one that's readily available local to me as I see so many mums posting they are struggling to find formula and I don't want that stress 🥺🥺

Hey yes you can technically use your card to buy anything. In past I've used it to pay for nappies, milk, baby snacks (basically anything baby related) I gave my son cow & gate and it's a good milk easy to find not pricey and those ready made bottles are great for the hospital and if you go on days out as they get older

How do these cards work do I just show them in any store?

Just to add to Kendamil, my daughter was on kendamil, never had a problem getting it! My local boots does it and so does 24hr Tesco, I didn't go for premade as that's way too expensive, but I did get it for when on the go and never had issue getting it.... Also I think it should be ok getting on the card as it's for milk and fresh vegetables and fruit

@Radka I'm only getting pre-made as the hospital I'm delivering at requires you to have pre-made formula if you are not BF as there is no where for you to prepare bottles, will be going to normal formula once we are home :)

@Samina you apply online and then they send you a card in the post with a pin number- you need to call to activate your card and then you use it like a normal card when paying for shopping (it has contactless) you need to split your shopping and pay separately for the items you are using the card for (for example I do my main shop and then seperate my milk and fruit etc to a second transaction and use my healthy start card) it works just like a normal card and you will get an email each month when you balance has been updated with a payment or you can ring the number on the card to check the balance :)

@Clo thank you so much
