water breaking

I got out of bed this morning and I when i stood I felt a trinkle . couldn’t tell if it was watery discharge or amniotic fluid I went to go pee and my panties were just wet it didn’t look like normal discharge. I woke up with bad stomach pains constantly through the night but I brushed it off as the weight of the baby when I was rolling around the bed. I changed my underwear to monitor and see if it happens again since I don’t have pads. Very nervous . The place I’m supposed to deliver is over a hour away and I wouldn’t wanna go to labor n delivery for them to say I peed myself or it was just discharge

Maybe call l&d and explain and see what they recommend! I had similar experience last week. Thought my water broke, got to hospital only for them to tell me it might’ve been pee 😂 but better to be safe than sorry!!!!!

@Jackie I did some more research on tik tok and they said it could have a sweet smell, it definitely did. The past few days I’ve definitely been smelling way sweeter down there and I just don’t know what has changed. I also had some cramps it felt like just mildly intense period cramps. I’m just going to keep my eye out

The same scenario happened to me several days ago. Noticed watery/clear leaking throughout the night and couldn't tell if it was due to the weight of baby each time I toss and turn, etc. I called my OBGYN and without listening to all of my details, they immediately sent me to triage. I tried expressing to them that I was only asking a question/seeking info on what to look out for! I even had an appointment scheduled the following day and told them I felt comfortable waiting to be seen until then. The hospital told me that any questionable/unsure leaking is to be checked out. So - be prepared to go in to be checked if you do decide to call and ask!

@Marissa did it end up being your water 🥲

No! I had stopped “leaking” shortly after I called but they insisted I go to the hospital to be checked. This is my first pregnancy so I do understand the “better safe than sorry” mentality. I was just feeling bad about another trip to the triage. I’ve been 3 times in the past 2 months over what I thought to be questions and the doctor ended up wanting me to be monitored.

To be honest one of my biggest worries rn is not realizing if my water broke when it does

Hey incognito! So how’s you doing now? Are you choosing to call your OB or go to hospital or not? I just experienced the same few hours ago and looking for same advice as well

Any updates?

UPDATE: was not my water was some mystery liquid they said. but my blood pressure did end up being elevated due to anxiety I assume so they made me stay overnight 🤦🏻‍♀️. I am high risk so I am glad I came in they said my liver enzymes have decreased thankfully and no protein in my urine. I am high risk due to Lupus and heart condition and they are talking w the hospital I will deliver at and I am getting Induced next week for sure just don’t know the exact day 😳🫠 so nervous I can’t wait to meet my baby girl

So so glad you did what you felt you needed to do and received some answers!! 🩷

@Marissa yeah me n my bf are happy too bc we haven’t received any updated information as far as induction goes we just kept getting anatomy scans with no answers. The next update we’ve gotten previously it that I will be able to deliver vaginally with my heart issues I will just need to be at a special high risk hospital

@Marissa he’s more relieved than me since he’s the only one that works and have been taking multiple days off work for these appointments just to get no new information so we basically got everything figured out today 😄
