My 5 week old has slowed down on the pop front and I’m lucky to get one a day at the moment so probably similar to you. She is breastfed as well.
I’m combi feeding and experiencing the same at 4 weeks - bub isn’t distressed or anything but maybe 1 poop in 24hr x
It’s quite common for them to suddenly poop less frequently around 6 weeks apparently! If the texture / colour still looks fine and lots of wet nappies, I wouldn’t be too concerned.
My 6 week old boy has about 4-5 dirty nappies per day, plus loads of wet ones.
So my little girl is 5 weeks old on Wednesday and she’s never pooed every day and she is breast fed. We ended up taking her back to hospital at a week old as she hadn’t pooed for 5 days after her meconium poos in hospital, but the paediatrician said sometimes some babies do tend to go less frequently than other babies even if they are EBF. They said not to worry until they go longer than 7-10 days and if the baby shows signs of discomfort. Our little one goes roughly every 3-5 days xx
My boy will be 6 weeks on Tuesday, he drinks exclusively expressed breastmilk and poops around 4 times a day.
Midwife and health visitor told me it's expected, breast fed babies can go around 10 days without pooping although mine has only went max one day x
It's incredible... My first little boy had a poo only every two weeks for a few months until he was weaned. He didn't even have poonamis when it happened. I can't remember exactly when that started but I definitely wouldn't be too concerned unless it's hard when it comes out.
