Unhinged friend

My husband’s male childless friend muscled his way into coming to visit us when our little boy was 2 weeks old. He had been complaining of not being able to seeing him since (blaming mostly me for keeping him away) till yesterday when we took baby to a friends social to meet everyone else. He said that when he met our baby, he put his entire foot in his mouth and wanted to do the same again, encouraging the other friends to do the same. I thought he was joking as I was in the room with him the entire time and saw no such thing but he says he is not joking. I am still in shock that he put my baby’s foot in his mouth wtf. I told my husband that this is extremely creepy and icky. I want to cut contact but don’t know of I am exaggerating and this is normal behaviour? Might be cultural as I am not British and he is?

It’s super weird to me too.

Got nothing to do with being British, he sounds mentally f***ed :,)

Not cultural, I’d find this odd too!

It’s definitely not a British thing, that’s just weird

No, that is definitely not cultural. I am British and that is freaky. I would 100% be getting rid of this friend.

This is giving red flags and boundary issues , I would take a wide birth from this man. Something is not right about his behaviour towards children and equally he is testing the parents trust of him ... Red Flag.

He is my husband’s best friend so he is unwilling to cut him off. I am so creeped out by him ( was already when he put so much pressure into seeing our son). I will have to make sure never to allow him alone with him 😳

That’s so weird

Sounds like he is immature and crossing boundaries but I can imagine he probably thinks he just joking around and not causing harm. I have a friend that I can imagine doing this and although I get why you are weirded out unless there is something more sinister I think expecting your husband to cut him off is probably a bit unrealistic. I would instead say to your husband that you feel uncomfortable around him with your new baby and need a break from him. Good luck 🤞
