Pace feeding

Do you still need to ‘pace feed’ when exclusively pumping / feeding with bottle? Or is this only needed when also breastfeeding?

Yes, it helps them know when theyre full and can limit gas and other issues if I remember correctly, my baby choked on milk occasionally when not pace fed too as she tried to gulp down loads at once

i dont pace feed my daughter and i didnt do that with my son and we never had issues. i never knew it was a thing until very recently.

I only had to do it with my son for the first couple months or else he would have a lot of gas or get hiccups a lot. He’s 4 months now and I don’t need to pace feed anymore.

For one of my twins it helped her to just take on what she could into her mouth as she was learning to swallow and clearing gunk left over from being in the womb. Otherwise she was almost drowning in it where she wasn’t swallowing it quick enough (this was with the lowest flow and size teat) as she has gotten older and more developed she is actually the opposite and able to take her bottle at quite a fast speed
