I was induced at 38 weeks because of hypertension/mild preeclampsia and my son had fetal growth restriction due to my placental insufficiency that the doctors missed most of my pregnancy. They brought up induction at my 38 week ultrasound and I chose to agree and deliver early so my son could be monitored closely. He struggled in the first few days with retaining his glucose levels, but other than that he is perfect. He was 5lb11oz at birth (but they thought he was 6lb8oz-12th percentile) and is now thriving. I wanted a natural birth, no C-section, unmedicated. Ended up vaginal birth, induced with epidural at 5 centimeters. If I had waited much longer, they would have done a C-section because baby started to be in distress. Do what feels right for you and baby. And my only real advice is advocate for yourself and baby. If you don’t agree with something, question it. And if you have a birth plan, stick to it as much as possible. Congrats Mom! Pretty soon you’ll be overwhelmed with love

I had my cervical check and within an hour I was having back to back contractions. I was very lucky I didn’t need any intervention! xx

I was induced at 40 weeks. I had the dilator things first, but after the 24 hours were up my cervix was still too high up so they put in a pessary. Contractions started an hour later. I had a bad reaction to it and was having 8 contractions in 10 minutes (the normal amount is 4). Had to have an injection in my stomach to slow them because baby boy was in distress. It sent me into labour though and at 7am they moved me to the labour ward, and at 10am I had my waters broken and got the epidural. I was dilating perfectly on my own but eventually my contractions slowed so I had to have the hormone drip. Baby boy made his arrival at 4am the following morning after a forceps delivery and 2 hours of pushing. He was 6 pounds and 15 ounces 🥹
