Pain relief

How long after your c section did you need to take really regular pain relief and relied on it to get up and about the house? Just wondering whether to expect this level of pain and needs for meds for a few more days, weeks or months! Thank you

I think I followed the pain relief recommendation from the midwives for about a week and a half then I was able to only need pain relief once/twice a day instead of every 4hrs

I was on paracetamol and ibuprofen every 6 hours for the 10 days following my c section

Yeah around 10 days aswell. Stopped ibuprofen at about a week then kept taking paracetamol for another few days

I took regular pain medication for about a week and half and then dropped it to just morning and before bed before it became before bed time.

I did about a week and half and then completely stopped taking them. I only kept taking it that long in precaution as had a busy week with family visiting otherwise I would have stopped at a week

I only had paracetamol for first two days then just pushed through it as it wasn't helping at all

I stopped talking painkillers the day I got out of hospital which was 24hrs after I had a very high pain tolerance I ended up handing my morphine into my local pharmacy to discard it and tbh having baby no3 I just wanted to get into the new normal

I had ibuprofen and paracetamol regularly for about a week then only took as and when I needed, but everyone’s pain and recovery time is different so just take it at your own pace and what feels right for you xx

I was in agony pretty much until day 10. I woke up on day 10 and it was like a pain switch was turned off. The deep burning, excruciating pain from one side of my incision was gone. It came back mildly a few days later (think I did too much) but I have felt pretty normal since then.
