@Taylor I've been told by the midwives that it usually is quicker and they said it would be safer to have a home birth. I already wanted one but the closer I'm getting I'm so glad I am because I wouldn't want to risk it. I got to the hospital with my first and they didn't believe me when I told them I'm in labour. They were reluctant to check me but when they did I was 9cm! I just can't risk it xx
I don’t have any experience with a second yet, but I had a quicker than expected first birth and am also going home birth route for similar reasons. Your midwife on your home birth notes should mark that your risk for BBA and to send out both midwives when you first call. She mentioned to me to call as soon as I felt real contractions (even if 20mins apart). Hope all goes well!!! Ps I’m so excited for the home birth
Also following, I went into natural labour at 40 plus 3 and I’m curious if people who have birthed a second time got the same “runway.” I started contractions at midnight and they slowly built until I went to hospital at like 1:30pm at 6cm and had two hours labour, two hours pushing (because of shoulder distocia)

Really curious to know as well!! I was induced with my first and from what I remember, went from 6cm to 10cm in less than 2 hours with pushing time on my notes as 3 minutes 🥴🥴 Baby girl was born at 37+6. Feeling more anxious this time as it's looking like I won't be induced so I almost feel like I don't know what to expect!
