Losing mucus plug

Are we meant to do anything when this happens? I know it can rebuild over time etc.

I don’t believe there’s anything in particular you have to do. When I had my first, my mucus plug came away on the Tuesday, again on the Wednesday with a bloody show and then baby boy was here by Wednesday night!

Thank you! I know it's not always a sign of labour starting. I'm only 35 weeks so might call the midwife just incase?

If it's just mucus rather than a bloody show, and you don't have any contractions or pains etc then nothing to worry about. You can call and let them know if you like, they'll likely say just to monitor and call back if any of those things I mentioned do occur

I’ve been losing my plug in little bits since 34+3, along with some streaky stuff - I told my midwife so she is aware but I was told just to monitor as does regenerate. Do call triage if you are concerned though xx

I called triage when I lost mine at 35+6 and they just advised to keep an eye out for any leaking, non smelly fluid as could be may waters, nothing to do other then that! In my case, I woke up the next day with leaking waters, was admitted to hospital and had him by emergency section 4 days later 😂 x

Thanks everyone! 🙏 Have had contractions on and off for about a week, but slightly stronger today. Keeping an eye! 💙🙃
