I had the pessary and then the balloon, not sure on the horror stories but it went well for me. Was a bit uncomfortable but that was more their hands pressing against me... felt more like she had those plastic hulk hands on.. they didn't tell me why the pipe was tied taught to my leg so I thought they had done it wrong, and if was a bit uncomfortable so I loosened it, it's taught so it pull down, someone checked it the next morning and tightened it back up and told me and in 2 hours it had popped out when I went to the loo x once it's out your 3cm and it's time to break waters xx good luck 👍 you'll do great xxx

For me, it was instant strong pain, like a minute or two, but I'm not sure if it was from the balloon or their technique. It lessened a little once hands were out, but it never went away. Eventually, they took the balloon out. It felt like a few hrs. I opened up 5 centimeters and no more.

Honestly the balloon part was the worst part for me. I couldn’t pee right with it in and I just felt sharp mild pain in my cervix and they ended up yanking it out with force too early. I was at 3cm instead of 4 cm dilated so it felt like they ripped it out of me and I delivered a mini baby before I delivered a baby but after that everything went okay for the most part. It doesn’t hurt for insertion or anything it’s just the pressure directly on your cervix that’s uncomfortable and mildly painful.

It’s defo uncomfortable but I just lay on my side with my pregnancy pillow between my legs and I felt great. I got mine in at 2pm, was uncomfortable till about 5pm where I discovered lying on my side helped and it fell out at 9am the next morning. Just make sure you have some paracetamol on hand and a tv show you like to distract you from the uncomfortable part. Also getting mine in was a breeze, didn’t even notice they did it till it was over. Honestly don’t over think it as it will freak you out. I went in with horror story’s and left thinking I freaked myself out over nothing xx

It's a little but uncomfortable to begin but you get used to it. I got a few light period pains but nothing major - saying that though no form of induction worked for me and it ended in a c section as he didn't want to come out 🫠
