Baby boy - struggling with wind

My 4 week old son seems to be getting what I think is an upset tummy. When I put him down for a sleep, he will wake crying, arching his back and stretching out his legs. It takes a lot to try and settle him. He has been passing a lot of wind that has been quite smelly so wondering if he is struggling to poo! Has anyone else had this or know what can help 😩

My boy does the same. Getting him upright, chomping on a dummy, and dentinox I find help a little. He always seems to poop or fart like a goodun whenever he’s feeding on the boob. I wonder if it relaxed him. I try to calm him my stroking his head or rubbing his tummy but it only works so much before he gets really cross at his clearly hurting tummy.

My little one is two weeks old and we were experiencing the same thing. We have incorporated these steps below and have found them to really help our little girl: Gently moving their legs back and forth to imitate riding a bike - this helps to relieve some wind but also helps her to poo. You can also try bending his legs gently pushing his knees up towards his tummy. We have also started on Infacol after a recommendation from our midwife, it’s been over a week now and it has really helped.

We started using coleif a few days ago. Its expensive but is meant to make them less gassy and our little girl is trumping like a trooper when she does have wind

I have also started Colief and the difference has been night and day … my little boy was screaming and crying for a good few hours on an afternoon and eve with wind and what seemed to be tummy aches and now he is settled after having Colief I am breastfeeding so I hand express some milk and add the drops and syringe it into his mouth only need a small amount of milk to do this and it’s working really well hope this helps x
