Poo every after feed

I’m trying to breastfeed but I don’t think I have enough to properly nourish my newborn. So midwife advised to top up 45ml of formula. 2 weeks into it, we noticed bubba seems to still be hungry. So we increased his formula to 90ml and he can finish it all most of the time. He poops like explosion — yellow and wet almost every after meal in different amounts. My concern is that, I noticed that his belly looks too big and I notice some symptoms of reflux. We always burp him during and after formula feeds, holds him upright for 30min after. Is pooing every after meal really normal (given that he’s breastfed + formula). Should I be concerned about his belly?

My daughter is combi fed and poops after almost every feed. Both midwives and health visitors said it’s ok xx

Totally normal! My breastfed baby did this after every meal until about 3 ish months when his digestive system got more mature now he poops 1x per day. Is he seeming uncomfortable? Are the poops so watery that you would be worried about dehydration? If not and your pediatrician says its good I wouldn't worry to much!

Yes, normal. Both mine did this.

Totally normal. Also, if you want to breastfeed then cut the formula. You're decreasing your supply and replacing it with formula. If you're ok with that then obviously that's fine, I only mention it as you said you're trying to breastfeed. Your milk will be enough as long as baby is put to the breast pretty much constantly in the early days.

thank you mummies for the reassurance!
