Getting induced.

So I’m getting induced in a couple of days. What should I expect?

Honestly it is different for everybody. I went in to be induced but happened to already be in labour. I just thought they were braxtons 🤣 my labour was extremely quick. The process for me was simple but can be different for everybody. The birth went amazing but I had a major PPH afterwards & lost a huge amount of blood. This wasn’t linked to the induction itself btw as I only ended up having 1gram of the gel as my contractions were every 2 min in a 10 min cycle. Your induction could take days or it could take hours. I’d suggest to take books/or something to occupy yourself. Just try to relax the best you can. Walk lots! Stay hydrated. But the biggest advice I’d give to myself back in June is to not overthink it & try to relax as much as possible. I was extremely nervous but I had no reason to be. The birth itself was so quick that I was in shock. I’d now go back & take it in holding my little girl for the first time. Soak it all in. She is 16 weeks on Thursday & it has flew by!

Expect it to take a few days. I was induced on a Thursday morning and by Saturday I still wasn’t dilated enough so ended up having a section in the Sunday morning. Honestly the whole experience was fine and manageable. Worst part was the PP 💩

It takes time, 3 days for both my inductions x

I got induced as I was 2 weeks overdue, I chose the pessary.. but you got a check down there first to see if anything is moving and if the method chosen is suitable. I actually had to have the pessary removed because it worked so quick (2 hours) and I was contracting straight away! I had the pessary at 12pm, removed at 2.30pm, moved to labour suite due to bleeding. Ended up fully dilating by 3am, but then ended up in emergency c section, but nothing to do with the induction. Best of luck, it isn’t scary at all being induced that is 😂

A long wait

I was induced on a Friday and didn’t have her till the Wednesday, I was naive and thought it’d be over in a couple of days.. so definitely pack for a few days, and bring stuff to keep yourself occupied! Also just walk loads 😂Xx

I went in Thursday, had a pessary for 24 hours did nothing at all for me. Friday afternoon around 5pm I had the gel, immediately had a burning feeling and period like cramps which I thought was a reaction to the gel, three hours later I was in full labour, contractions 2 minutes apart, gave birth at 5am. I genuinely loved my birthing experience and would do it again, there’s lots of negativity around inductions and I was put off by it but I don’t regret it at all x

Along trip in the hospital 😂 I was about 6 days… My contractions stopped after the pessary came out but then they broke my waters on day 5 at 2:46am. He arrived at 12:59pm and then we went home the day after because I was dehydrated and wanted to stay so I felt better incase i needed help. Husband stayed in a hotel most of the time, never stayed in the hospital due to the chairs. No beds for men. Don’t expect husbands to be fed in the hospital rooms, it is only patients. The poor lady got an ear full from an expecting dad and I felt so bad for her 😢 so bring food for partner. And snaackkkssss. Over all a good experience for me, it was bloody hot though! Beginning of August high 20s, yuck! Just bring crocs and slippers, you’re not going to worry about shoes when your feet are sore and swollen. That’s the least of your worries. I walked around in my nighty most days 😂
