I got a backache and felt crampy almost straight away and then my contractions started within an hour. I did have to remove it early due to hyperstimulation but it didn’t matter as it had already put me into labour and I was 2cm dilated, so they broke my waters. I think my labour may have gone quicker if I’d kept the pessary in but I was contracting at an unsafe rate so we didn’t have a choice. By 5pm the next day I was 4cm and contractions were really ramping up. Unfortunately I had to go for an emergency c section after 23 hours labour but the midwives all said I’d be giving birth that night as I was progressing well

It really does depend & vary from person to person. I ended up with all 4 pessaries & needed to have a c section after 5 days of induction. But my baby turned out to be 9lb 14, so didn’t want to come out 😂

Roughly about 24 hours later for me

Got the pessary placed at 10.30am, my waters broke at around 2.30pm and my baby was born at 5.30pm. BUT, I have a history of labouring very quickly, so I imagine this isn’t that typical 😂

I gave birth 5 hours after it was inserted 😂 but it’s my second baby so that makes a difference

Pessary in at 2.30 pm waters broke spontaneous at 11.17pm baby born 12.41 am

Pessary didn't work for me until they had gel in me, waters broke after 5hrs

Less than 24 hours

@Becca how many weeks were you when you were induced do you mind me asking? X

@Georgie 38+2 x

I had the pessary at 1.30pm, waters went at 11pm then had the baby just after 1am

I had the pessary with my first and it only took 42 mins

I only had one pessary it was inserted at 21:00pm and i had her the following evening at 22:05pm
