Home birth
I’m almost 33 weeks pregnant and now considering a home birth. My consultant is against it but can’t give me a reason for being against it!
She’s now referred me to the wellbeing midwife essentially to try to persuade me to have a hospital birth !
The aftercare after having my son was horrendous and I’m so concerned with the same thing happening that and my son came soo quickly we just made it to the hospital and now live even further away !!!
Is anyone else considering one ?

@Hannah pcos and my son was a big baby yet easier to birth than his sister 🙈I was under pre term birth clinic for having a previous letz procedure , but was signed off and the consultant at the pre term clinic said there is no reason I cannot go onto have a healthy full term pregnancy !
I don't know enough about pcos and the impact it has on giving birth but you've already had 2 babies and presumably no problems/at least nothing making you want to be in hospital for birth! Big baby definitely not a reason to not have a home birth for sure!
I was also under consultant for previous lletz procedure but signed off and planning a home birth for my second!

What reason are you consultant led? It's ultimately your decision where you give birth and as long as you are making informed decisions then do what you feel is right for you! There is a lot of supporting evidence for the safety and reduced interventions for home births! I am going for home birth this time x
