Elective c-section

Hey everyone I’m looking to get some advice and hear your experiences with a second c-section. I had an emergency section with my daughter and I’m due in February with our second baby and I’m looking at potentially going for an elective section but I’m so nervous about it. Did any of you have an elective section the second time and how did the recovery go? Any advice would be greatly appreciated ☺️ x

I had an elective c section in may and an emergency c section with general anesthesia in june of 2021. The elective c section was much better. I was able to see and touch my baby when she came out. I was awake and not super groggy or asleep for the first few days. I could get up and move around faster, the healing time was faster, I was less nervous about everything cuz I knew what I was dealing with. The process was much more relaxed, the nurses and doctors talked me through everything. With my emergency c section I was in the hospital for a week. With my elective c section I was in the hospital for 3 days

My elective was sooooooo much better! The most amazing, calm experience and recovery was amazing in comparison to emergency. Emergency was 2 weeks in hospital, elective was 24 hours x

That’s so reassuring to hear thank you both. It’s such a big decision to make xx

I had an emergency c section first time round and can’t remember a think was quite traumatic. This time round I had an elective and it was amazing, such a calm experience.

Had an elective C-section with my first and just had another section last Friday (unplanned but not an emergency). I can say I found recovery the first time easier and less painful than what I'm feeling now, but besides that both experiences have been brilliant.
