Newborn bathing

How often is everyone bathing their newborn and how do you do it - in a normal bath, with you or in a baby bath? With soap, just water? How long? Do you use a thermometer to check temperature? I feel like he doesn't get dirty really apart from his nappy area which obviously is cleaned thoroughly multiple times per day.

Every 2-3 days with just water and always have a thermometer in the bath - no longer than 5 minutes and then we do 10minutes of baby massage to get her ready for bed

Every other day with just water 🫶🏻 I don’t use a thermometer I just test with my elbow. We use the angelcare curved bath seat

I use a thermometer and the angel care bath support (I think it’s called). My daughter goes in the bath with my son so we use some baby bubbles. Bathing twice a week 😀

Only twice a week as he has dry skin and like you say they don’t really get dirty. Plain water although may try an oat bath this week to help his skin. I use a thermometer and keep the water to 37/38. I usually leave him in for around 10 minutes so I can do a bit of tummy massage as he’s a windy baby but I leave the thermometer in to make sure the water doesn’t cool down too quickly. He accepts the tummy massage in the bath a bit better as it seems to really calm him.

I’m bathing my 2 week old girl every 2-3 days I use my elbow to test the water. I also use head to toe wash and baby shampoo once she is bathed we get her out we use a baby bath seat which she can lay on

Every day but its a quick one.. My LO has reflux and is getting milk down his neck. I got the nuby baby bath and its the perfect size and for the first month used baby mio milk bath followed by coconut oil message and it helped cure his dry skin.

Best not to use products for the first month or so as their skin is very delicate and can lead to eczema down the line.. we currently bath every 2 days or thereabout and put some breastmilk in the water.. alternatively pure water is absolutely fine as they really don't get that dirty :) x

we've done it every 2-3 days, at first we used the angelcare bath seat but I've also tried taking him in the shower with me as its a lot quicker and makes sure there isn't any left over product in the bath water that's getting on him. always make sure my partner is around to supervise and help getting in and out just in case

Twice a week, my babies skin is very dry so trying not to dry it out too much right now!

Twice a week with just water but thinking of trying a breast milk bath as his skin is quite dry. We have the angelcare bath seat as well.

I just bathe my son at least 4 times a week in one of those mini free standing baths. I use Johnson’s baby wash and shampoo and a flannel. My baby loves the bath bless him. I just do sort of warm water, not too hot but not cold and test it with my hand and don’t use a thermometer.

Personally I bath with my baby he prefers it and honestly would stay in there all day I use nalas baby once a week if need be but try bath him every other day just to keep his neck and hands clean as he spits up and gets fluffy fingers

Twice a week, unless he pukes or poops all over himself. With aveeno baby soap, in a baby bath tub. I just check the water with my hand/elbow. And his bath only takes under 10 minutes.

My first baby was a very sick-y baby so had to bath her nearly every day as we’d always manage to get sick in her hair. My second baby I bath every 2-3 days unless I need to bath her. I run the bath, use my elbow to check the temp (fella uses a thermometer) and use a little bit of soap to make bubbles. When I wash her hair I put a muslin square over her body to keep her warm. Get her out, top up and make the bath a bit warmer for my eldest and add loads of bubbles and toys

Every other day but my baby needs bathing more as her allergy milk makes her poos very messy and she wriggles so much she always ends up with a foot in it or it halfway up her back😂I use water and Johnson’s baby wash and I only just bought a bath themoniter so not sure how long to leave it yet as only bought it today x
