Working

We’ve just had baby no 2 and are now looking at all our options, after our first i went back 3 days a week and was very lucky with family with child care, this time round we aren’t as lucky, working with 2 under 2 and putting two children in two child care seems completely unrealistic! Personal question but Stay at home mums but how do you work finances? Me and my husband have also just earnt own money so just trying to get my head around relying fully in my husband ( I know he will have no issues) I think it’s just my own issues really

From 9 months they'll have access to the 15 hours funding but if you want it stretched full year it works out only as around 11 hours a week since is tricky depending what hours you would be working. I personally trained as a childminder so that I could earn while also staying home with my son but it's not the highest earning job

Could you work for a daycare chain? I’ve heard a lot of them give 50% discount for staff children. They might not accept you working at the same one, but they can be fairly close together? It might be the only way to have two kids in daycare while also earning a bit of money, otherwise so much of a part time salary just goes straight into childcare 🤦🏻‍♀️

We sat down and worked out what income we would have coming in and then went through all our outgoings, double checked we really needed all of them. Then set budgets for all other ad hoc things new clothes, eating out....we review things regularly and always discuss big purchases monthly; trips, celebrations coming up etc.
