Hospital bag

So starting to pack for my hospital bag. Is it too much to bring like a little carry on suitcase? I feel like even with that it’s gonna be a squeeze but also don’t want to look over the top 😂. What is everyone else using? TIA x

As long as it's not one that opens flat. My cubicle on the postnatal ward was quite small and there wasn't space to spread a suitcase flat on the floor. I took a weekend bag for me, nappy bag for baby and a backpack with snacks/drinks/charger in it. I plan to do the same again this time. The porter did comment on how much stuff I had but, meh! Works for me 🙈😆 x

I’m taking a carry on suitcase + a bag for baby +probably a little back pack bag for my charger/hair brush/hosp notes/ snacks, things I’ll pack last minute really xx

Yes I took a carry in mini suitcase (the type you can fit in an overhead locker) for my things, and a large handbag/weekend bag kind of thing for baby things. My partner also brought a bag of his own things. In a cubicle it’s annoying but you would rather have things than not. You can just keep the suitcase under the bed and open it on the bed when you need things out of it.

Our antenatal class said to keep it as light as possible as to keep things simple. Babies really don’t need a lot and it can really clutter your space which in some places is super limited and make things more stressful to find. If you live close to hospital, might be worth having a bag of “extras” ready if you do need to stay longer than anticipated someone can bring through / go back for - rather than taking everything at once (half of which you might not need) xx

i’ve packed a mini suitcase to😂x

I took a small suitcase with my first and it was fine. I’m planning on doing the same again. With the changing bag for babies stuff and a backpack for my partner and snacks

I was being monitored by the delivery ward a couple of days ago & some couples came in with full sized suitcases (multiple) and loads of bags! I started to panic about how much I’d actually need? 🤣

I am packing mine at the moment, a carry on suitcase for me and using the nappy bag (a rucksack) for baby

For my first had an overnight bag I took then had a small suitcase at home for husband to bring in if I had to stay longer

I took a small suitcase with my first and it was fine. Will do the same again

I took 2 bags last time & this time I'm taking a little case to avoid the 2 bags - all mines & babies stuff will fit in one place this way atleast x
