Visitors

Do you think it’s safer and “easier” to have visitors at the hospital or at home? We have a toddler at home so we think home will be chaotic with visitors and easier if we just say hospital visit but that time is so precious in the hospital too that I dont want to feel overwhelmed with visitors coming in and out.

I much rather visitors in the hospital personally

Yup, visitors in the hospital. That way the nurse can kick them out when you need/want time with baby or to rest.

We didn't have visitors for the first month and while that's no fault of anyone (I'm sure they wanted to be there but we live on the other side of the US) having visitors at home so freshly postpartum was rough for me. I felt a lot of pressure to host and it was rough especially with those emotions. However I did enjoy the small time we were in the hospital just the three of us.

I have a toddler at home too but I tend to have a different opinion than others.. I felt soooooo stressed and hormonal at the hospital last time so I’m actually not going to have any visitors except possibly my mom and mother in law. I feel like visitors at home will help the toddler feel better (more attention to her and will allow me to pay attention to only her for a bit). But honestly with it being December I will probably not allow many visitors for several weeks.

@Katie I think for me it’s the opposite at home. I feel like the ones I am thinking of having at home would be more about the baby vs my toddler making it stressful for me. :/ And then I feel the exact same with it being cold season I dont want to have visitors at all. I think I am leaning towards hospital to make it quick and easy and that way I can also ask them to mask up.
