Incision and smell…

It’s been 4 weeks. Had c-section. Incision hidden under belly flap. Wash it gently with mild soap and water which Dr said was ok. I can’t really see it well myself but husband said it looks good. Try my best to keep it dry but it does get moisture sometimes. Issue is it has a funky smell and I don’t know why. Anyone else has had this issue or can give me an idea why?

Always consult with your doctor just to be safe but I am going through something similar at the moment. As long as it doesn't smell foul or you don't have any concerning discharge coming from it, you should be fine. Just be sure to keep a close eye out for infection like redness, hot to the touch, or having a fever. I think mine is due to the belly flap plus a healing saroma.

No redness or discharge that’s why I haven’t reached out yet. I don’t feel anything abnormal besides the smell. It retains moisture but I try with a clean cloth to keep it dry as best as I can.

So I had this, had it checked by my GP and she said it was due to perspiration throughout the day and when I go to the loo try and take the baby wipes with me and clean it then use loo roll to dry it but not to be too worried (UK based) xo

I had the same thing it was like a funky musty smell I asked my doctor she said it’s cause I’m heavy and I need to air it out and keep it dry keep a towel down there.

Thanks ladies, I’m relieved. I’ll still call the Dr but that smell makes me uncomfortable to be intimate with the hubs. When does it stop? Didn’t have that flap before but my belly was so huge this time around.
