Positive induction 💙

This is to anyone that is due to be induced and is perhaps nervous/anxious as all you hear are horror stories. I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy on the 5th October after having to be put in for an induction for obstetric cholestasis. Yes it was a long few days as I went in Wednesday night and didn’t have him till early hours Saturday but overall I had a really positive experience with the most amazing midwives 💙💙💙

Thank you for sharing and sorry it was long but so glad it was positive and you have a beautiful baby 🐥 ❤️

awww i had an induction with my first 2 years ago, and she has the same birthday as your little one! also had a very positive experience. congratulations, he is gorgeous and hope you're recovering well xx

I may be induced tomorrow, I haven't decided yet. Can I ask how the pain was? I was hoping to hypnobirth at home and have a water birth on the birth centre. But it's looking likely that's all out the window and I hear the pain is so much worse when forcing your body to start early labour

@Harriet hiya, i know you were asking alice, but just wanted to say that when i was induced with my first, i was able to have an outpatient induction, so managed to labour at home until i was 8cm dilated. i used hypnobirthing techniques and had gas and air when i arrived at hospital and didn't find the pain to be unmanageable. this was with the pessary. good luck whatever you decide xx

@keisha thank you so much, that's so reassuring and would be my dream. Fingers crossed they'll let me tomorrow as I'm low risk just overdue

@Harriet aww i really hope they let you, i was actually high risk but the 'lower end of high risk' according to the consultant so they were happy for me to go home, so hopefully you'll be able to! keeping my fingers crossed for you💜🤞

@Harriet do you mind me asking how overdue you are? I'm 40+5 tomorrow and getting to the end of my wits with it all! Induction booked for next Friday if she's still not here so best part of a week still ..

@Georgie I'm 41 weeks tomorrow. My hospital books everyone in for induction at 41 but obviously I can decline. Just can't decide what to do. Had my 4th sweep today and baby is head down, low down, my cervix is soft but its still tilting backwards

@Harriet hey, I was an inpatient and had the propess. I did about 33 hours with paracetamol/codine then gas and air then had an epidural. The pain was definitely manageable until I got the epidural but that’s only because he was pressing on a nerve so that’s what was causing me most pain x
